Action Cancer

Action Cancer provides prevention, detection and support in Northern Ireland. Through health promotion and improvement programmes, digital breast screening, health checks and support and therapeutic services, we help save lives and support people across NI.

Services:

• Health Improvement: Increasing awareness & supporting you to live a healthier lifestyle, reducing your risk of developing cancer.  Services include: health checks; Step into Action (led by Health and Wellbeing coaches to help you achieve your healthy lifestyle). 

• Breast Screening: We offer women in NI, aged 40-49 & 70+ access to free breast screening within Action Cancer House and regionally on our Big Bus.

• Support: We offer support services to children & adults affected by cancer, at any stage of the cancer journey.  Services include: Counselling, Complementary therapies, Scar therapy, Acupuncture, Pain and Symptom Control therapies including Emmett therapy, Physiotherapy, Yoga/Pilates, and Peer Mentoring.   We provide our services in 14 locations throughout NI.

• Info Hub: Learn about cancer facts, reducing your risks, signs & symptoms, screen & detection.  We also have a range of Self-Care videos under our support section providing information on Relaxation Techniques; Emotional Freedom Techniques; Bach Flower Remedies; Fatigue management; Self care; and Reframing your thoughts.
