Autism NI has a family support team who are committed to supporting all families with the many issues and challenges they may face.
Services:
- Helpline – Our Helpline offers a regional supports, it is available Monday to Friday from (9am – 5pm), by telephoning 028 90401729 (Option 1). We provide advice, information and practical resources to autistic individuals, parents/carers and professionals.
- Family Support – We co-ordinate a number of different types of support groups based in local communities across Northern Ireland, offering support to thousands of parents/carers and their autistic children.
- Early Intervention -providing critical, community-based supports to autistic children and their parents/carers. Each delivering a community focused bespoke service for children and families who have received an autism diagnosis.
- Autism Training – providing a range of training courses to parents/carers and professionals(including a nationally recognised AQA accreditation)
- Autism Support Officer – available in the Belfast/Northern Health & Social Care Trusts. Supporting parents/carers of autistic children up to and including (aged 17 years) who are newly diagnosed.
- Autism Resource Officer – available in the Northern Health & Social Care Trust. Supporting parents/carers of autistic children (aged 8+) who have recently received an autism diagnosis.
- Girls & Autism Project (GAP) – works with each autistic girl (aged 11-17 years old) and their parent/carer within the Northern Trust area. GAP supports achievement, enjoyment and full participation.
- Support Groups – there are over 20+ based in local communities across Northern Ireland, offering support to thousands of parents/carers and their autistic children.
