COME AS YOU ARE!

My uHub is currently recruiting volunteers from across North Down and Ards to be befrienders and community mental health champions!

We appreciate and understand that these are trying difficult times, so this work will mostly be carried out over the phone and by video call when possible. This is a chance for you to give back and work with your community helping those who are in need.

If you are interested in volunteering with My uHub you must:

  • Be over 18 years old.
  • Be willing to complete an Access NI background check.
  • Have no previous criminal convictions.
  • Be able to access a phone and internet.
  • We welcome volunteers with experience in mental health and community work, but don’t let this stop you from applying if you don’t have that background!

Support and full training will be provided. All volunteers will receive suicide awareness and safeguarding training. While this will be taught it will never be the role of a volunteer to handle this kind of situation. The training will be used to help volunteers recognize those in need of immediate help and how to refer them to the right support.
